Introductions...
Me and my two friends, Sarah and Lauren, digging a hole on a beach in Block Island, my favorite place on earth. I like digging holes.
My name is Kyra and I like food. Especially Thai and Indian food. I am a part of the CAP program at Montgomery Blair High School. This is my school blog- so welcome!
In terms of film production, I enjoy the filming process itself. Similar to how I enjoy taking photos, I much prefer being behind the camera and filming others than being filmed myself. I love watching stories that we wrote unfold while filming. Other than filming, I kind of enjoy editing, though editing can often become quite tedious. Editing, I think, MAKES the film- without quality editing, a film is just a jumble of scenes and words and takes.
When I was in 8th grade, I helped produce a film/interview while I was in New York City with my class. I loved filming B-Roll all over the city, documenting my experiences. After we finished filming, we edited the interview and the B-Roll together, connecting what our interviewee said to what I had filmed throughout the city. I expect and do hope that I will be able to further and expand my experience in filming this year.
What can we use this blog for, you ask? Well, we could...
-use this blog to share our productions with the entire CAP class
-use this as a method of communicating our opinions on topics in class, projects, etc.
-submit homework assignments through this blog, rather than wasting paper
-express ourselves; ie. post photos we took and want commentary on
